Artist Statement
I have an incredibly strong drive to create art. It is something I have experienced since childhood. The act of painting something new and different excites me. I gravitate towards painting nature, either through abstracted landscapes, or more representational landscape paintings.
Working with an element of abstraction allows me to escape from reality, creating something completely original from a place only in my mind. While I enjoy the freedom of expression involved in this process, it also brings me great joy to recreate the beauty that surrounds me using representational intricacy within my West Coast inspired landscape paintings.
My goal as an artist is to paint pieces that invoke a positive feeling in the viewer. I create from a place of joy, which is communicated in my art.
